Bonalu Celebrations at Aspen
Aspen celebrated Bonalu Festival – The state festival on Friday.
It was a joyful in-house celebration. Children came dressed in different ethnic attire. An earthen pot adorned with haldi and neem leaves in which the offering of rice cooked with jaggery and milk is made to goddess Mahakali was decorated along with a picture of Potharaju- brother of goddess Mahakali and was kept in the middle of a colourful rangoli. The ritual and the way in which this festival is celebrated in Telangana was well narrated to kids during the circle time.
