Yoga Day 2019
Celebration of yoga day at Aspen
“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self to the self.”
Since its inception in the year 2015, June 21st is celebrated as the International Day of Yoga all over the world. Yoga is a valuable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It is a workout that relaxes and strengthens your mind and body. At Aspen Montessori House, our little ones came dressed in white attire with full of energy and enthusiasm to celebrate the International Yoga Day today. They practiced various yoga asanas and postures which were made fun and engaging by our professional yoga instructor. The celebration started with a warm up session, followed by different yoga poses like standing, sitting and lying down poses. Some common yoga asanas and breathing exercises were taught to children likeh Tadasana (mountain pose), Vrikshana ( tree pose) Bhujangasana ( Cobra pose) , Sukhasna, Ujjayi Pranayam, Durga Pranayam, Nadhi Sodhaba Pranayam etc. followed by Omkar chanting.
It was a perfect day for our tiny tots. They thoroughly enjoyed these activities and truly lived up to the spirit of yoga which was evident through their smiling faces.
